It is reported that 5G is a better alternative to WiFi regarding download speeds and multiplayer mobile gaming. OpenSignal estimates that the average download speed of smartphones via WiFi is 26.33 Mbps. In comparison, 4G LTE download speeds are only 10.4Mbps.
On the other hand, 5G has astonishing average speeds of 138.6Mbps, which is 112.4Mbps faster than WiFi.

What Causes My Smartphone to Disconnect from WIFI Network?
“The balance between the cellular and the WiFi medium has changed as a result of 5G,” According to OpenSignal. The reason for that is how fast 5G connectivity is.
Playing multiplayer games on smartphones using 5G rather than WiFi is also better. Undoubtedly, 5G managed to bring in a good score at 62.5, while WiFi worked to close it to 59.5.
There is no doubt that video experiences are top-notch at 5G with a score of 68.6, compared with WiFi’s 47.7.
The question remains, however, as to whether WiFi is still more reliable than 5G in terms of upload speeds. In the Philippines, the median download speed is 14.4Mbps over WiFi, whereas the average rate for 5G is only 12.8Mbps.
