Xiaomi Shifts from MIUI to HyperOS Operating System

Xiaomi, the prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has disclosed the development of a novel operating system called HyperOS. This innovative OS is poised to premiere on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series, ultimately supplanting MIUI, Xiaomi’s existing Android-based operating system.

Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, enthusiastically confirmed this significant step, labeling the advent of HyperOS as a “historic moment” for the company. He affirmed that HyperOS will be officially introduced through the Xiaomi 14 series.

Furthermore, Alvin, Xiaomi’s global VP, assured a global release of HyperOS, scheduled to roll out gradually over the course of 2024. This indicates a planned transition from the well-established MIUI operating system, which has been a fundamental part of Xiaomi’s ecosystem for 13 years.

HyperOS has been in development since 2017 and is designed to cater to Xiaomi’s diverse array of products, spanning smartphones, smart home devices, and automobiles.

Xiaomi emphasizes that this new OS will seamlessly integrate their entire product ecosystem, providing users with streamlined control and management of their devices from a unified platform.

Although Xiaomi has not yet released specific details about HyperOS’s user interface or features, further insights are anticipated to be revealed during the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series later this month.
