After the official launch date of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus was announced, company president Donovan Sung shared a preview of both devices on Twitter. That said, both the smartphones is set for a December 7 launch in China. You may view the photos below.
Speaking of specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will sport a 5.7-inch HD+ display. Powered by a Snapdragon 450 chipset, it will have 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB variants. Other specs include a 12MP rear, 5MP front camera and a 3200mAh battery. Its expected price is around CNY 699/PHP 5,400 for the base model. Both will run on Android Nougat and will have the MIUI 9.
On the other hand, the Redmi 5 Plus will have a 5.99-inch FHD+ screen powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset. Compared to the Redmi 5, the Plus model will have a 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB model. Juiced by a 4,000mAh battery, the Redmi 5 Plus is expected to cost CNY 999/PHP 7,700 for the base model.
