
Xiaomi finally entered the streaming business and launched the Mi Music and Mi Video in India. The Mi Music is available starting today while the Mi Video will be available from next week.
These two apps aren’t new but a refreshed versions of the existing local media players. There will be over 500,000 hours of video content from these streaming services: AltBalaji, SonyLiv, Voot, Hungama Play, Zee5, Viu, and TVF etc. and 80% will be free from Mi Video app.
Also, you can share what you are watching on your smart TV and it supports a variety of video formats, subtitle, and private folders.
Meanwhile, Mi Music app offers over 10 million songs from Hungama Music which can be played from 13 different languages. Aside from this, it has Dynamic Lyrics which is a new feature that shows the lyrics of the song that is currently playing. It automatically jumps to the part of the song on the lyrics you scrolled.
Just like the Spotify, you have the pay to play the song offline. It costs Rs. 899 ($14) for a year of service.
The company plans to add more features in Mi Music such as picture-in-picture mode, personalized recommendations, music videos and themes and genre filter for Mi Video app.
