While Samsung confirmed that its newest flagship chipset, Exynos 980, will start production later this year, it seems like the first phone to use it is not the purported Galaxy S11. According to Vivo, it’s going to release the Vivo X30 flagship phone in China this December. It’s rumored to have a starting price of CNY 3198 or around P23K in Philippine peso.
While Samsung Exynos 980 is a sure thing already, rumor has it that the Vivo X30 will also come out with a Pro model. According to the spec sheet, both models will come with a 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED screen and 64MP quad-cam setup (13MP telephoto with up to 5x zoom, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth). However, the Vivo X30 Pro will use a debuting 60MP Sony IMX686 lens. Furthermore, the secondary sensors are 13MP telephoto that delivers up to 10x hybrid zoom, 13MP ultrawide, and 12MP Sony IMX363 for portraits.
While both are rated at 4500mAh, the fast charging on the Pro model is faster at 44W vs the 22.5W of the non-Pro variant. Last but not least is the use of UFS 3.0 storage on the X30 Pro. Like most Chinese flagship phones, there’s no wireless charging and IP rating for water-and-dust resistance. On the flip side, there are dual speakers, a headphone jack with Hi-Fi DAC support.
