The Chinese company is inviting everyone to witness the unveiling of Vivo V17 in India this coming December 9th. With a hashtag #clearasreal, the press invitation reveals a pinhole selfie camera on the top-right corner of the image. It’s the first Vivo phone to launch with the aforementioned feature.
It’s weird to see a non-pro model to be announced at a later date as it’s typically the other way around or at the same time. Nevertheless, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming V17. In a nutshell, it’s the Vivo S1 Pro with a pinhole selfie camera instead of a teardrop notch. Furthermore, it’s still the same 32MP f2.0 selfie lens. That said, you can expect the same 6.38″ FHD+ Super AMOLED with 90% screen-to-body ratio, Snapdragon 665 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, and 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The same goes for the quad-cameras that’s housed inside a diamond-cut module — featuring 48MP + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth. In the Philippines, the S1 Pro retails for P15,999. Given it’s nearly the same phone, the company might be looking to launch the V17 for India only.
