Last October, Twitter announced that it will discontinue support for Vine and cut around 350 staff. The website Vine.co is still available but you can no longer upload videos. But not for long.
Vine creators are about to revive Vine as a camera application. You can record again 6-second videos via the application but will be limited to Twitter when you share it.
Videos can be downloaded on mobile devices but Twitter is the only service that allows continuous playback. Furthermore, previously uploaded videos are available for download via Vine.co and app stores.
The camera app ‘Vine’ will officially launch in January 2017.
