Vehicles Exempted from the Expanded Number Coding Scheme

According to the Metro Manila Development Authority, the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), often known as the number coding scheme, is being implemented (MMDA).

Exceptions to the Extended Number Coding Scheme for Automobiles

Motorcycle
Motor vehicles carrying essential and/or perishable goods
Fuel trucks
Fire trucks
Marked media vehicles
Marked government vehicles
Ambulances
Public utility vehicles (PUV)
Tricycle
Garbage trucks

Hours for the Number Coding Window

Your coded car cannot pass certain highways during the window hours that are indicated below.

Plate number ending Day prohibited

  • 1 and 2 Monday
  • 3 and 4 Tuesday
  • 5 and 6 Wednesday
  • 7 and 8 Thursday
  • 9 and 0 Friday 

On weekends and holidays, is there a different numbering system?

No. Only on weekdays, from Monday to Friday, do we use the enlarged number coding system. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays are not cover.

What is the fine for violating number coding?

You could be fined up to Php300 if you are found to have violated the number coding scheme. You have seven (7) days to pay the fine. When you renew your license, failure to do so will result in higher fines and more inconvenience.
