UPDATE 9/3/2020 – Toyota Motor Philippines will officially launch the 2021 Hilux pickup truck in September 18 with the availability starting at October for P1-million starting price for the dual cab.
Along with the Toyota Fortuner, Toyota has launched the Hilux pickup truck as well in Thailand. The new Toyota Hilux 2021 features bigger grill–inspired by Tacoma–and a more powerful engine.
Starting with the front, the Tacoma-like design is very visible with a hexagonal grille on the Hilux. Its hood and lighting have been updated including the rear taillights.

Interior-wise, Toyota slightly refreshes the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The company improves the safety features of the truck with the base dual-cab models coming with parking sensors while the top-end model getting a radar cruise control and more.
The biggest addition is the new 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine with 4-cylinder. It produces 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of pulling power. This is a big step from 175 Hp and 470 Nm of the previous model. Toyota will still offer the 2.4-liter engine in some markets like the Philippines.
Expect the new Toyota Hilux and Fortuner 2021 to be released sometime this year or early next year with slightly more expensive pricing.
