Toyota Fortuner 2021 launches with new design, 200 HP engine

After dozens of leaked photos and spy shots, the Toyota Fortuner 2021 SUV and Hilux 2021 pickup with upgraded exterior and engine is officially launched in Thailand and will start shipping into Asian markets as well as in Australia and the Philippines.

Starting with the design, the grille is now bolder and with a new combination of LED headlight and foglights while the rear lights have sharper looks. Overall, the Toyota Fortuner 2021 offers distinctive styling especially for the top-end models like the V or Legender.

Toyota also managed to update the interior with a better infotainment system and slightly refined finishes and cuts. The Japanese giant also included a set of parking sensors for the base model which was previously reserved for the more expensive variants.

Another big news for both the Fortuner and Hilux is the faster and more powerful engine which is an improved 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel with 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Toyota will still offer its 2.4-liter variant with 148HP and 400 Nm of pulling power.

Toyota Thailand will release the Fortuner and Hilux 2021 in the coming months while other markets like the Philippines will probably see the availability by end of 2020 or early next year.

Pricing is expected to be slightly more expensive at around P1.69-million pesos starting SRP.
