The M3-Powered Apple iMac May Launch Later This Year.

Apple iMac lovers may wait a while for the next 24-inch model. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the gadget won’t launch until 2023, and Gurman’s newsletter verified his prediction that Apple would forgo the M2 chip upgrade and wait for the unannounced M3 processor.

Apple may be developing a larger-screen iMac. Rumors about the company’s ambitions vary. Apple is reportedly developing an M3-powered iMac to replace the 24-inch M1 iMac. The new Mac may be a Mac Pro or an iMac.

TSMC’s 3nm technology will boost the M3 chip’s performance and efficiency, and it may be utilized in the predicted 2023 MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. For reference, “nm” (nanometer) is the size and distance of CPU transistors. The smaller the number, the more transistors the chipset can accommodate, making it more powerful but more complex and expensive to produce.

Apple redesigned the iMac in April 2021 with the M1 processor and seven colorful colors. The Intel-based 27-inch iMac and iMac Pro exited two years ago, leaving just this iMac. Gurman has indicated that a giant iMac may return, but his recent newsletter did not.
