Tesla is on the move again, this time to set up its first V4 Supercharging point in the UK. This addition, which is part of the company’s Tottenham Service Centre, is more than just a regular upgrade; it’s a way to show that the electric vehicle (EV) community is open to everyone.
This new version stands out because it is easy to use. Tesla is now giving a way to pay with a card for the first time. This will make it easier for a wider range of EV drivers to charge up without any trouble
. A test by EVA England showed that the cost goes down to about £0.50 per minute, which is about PHP36. So, if you own an electric vehicle (EV) that isn’t a Tesla, all you have to do is plug it in with a CCS2 charge connector and swipe your contactless bank card. No app for Tesla?

This could be a big deal for Tesla, which is slowly letting other brands use its own charging network. With CCS2-compatible charging ports becoming standard on all new EVs, the “Tesla only” sign on Superchargers may soon be a thing of the past. This is especially important because the number of V4 Supercharging sites in Europe is growing. There are currently seven known sites, and a few more are in the works.
But there’s more. The V4 Supercharger should soon be able to be used in North America. Even though there are still some compatibility problems to work out, Tesla is already planning to fix them with built-in CCS1 adapters. This will allow their Supercharger network to be used in even more places.
Tesla is showing that working together and being open to everyone might be the new way to get ahead. And for those who are curious, a new V4 site with 16 350-kilowatt stalls is apparently being built in Swindon. So, whether you’re on Team Tesla or not, it just got a lot easier to charge your EV.
