Sony’s Project Field is a new way to play card games

Most of us, probably, knows what is or how to play Yu-Gi-Oh! For starters, it is a Japanese manga series about gaming, where a player will battle another player with a set of deck containing different monsters, spell and trap cards. This actually gave birth to real-life Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game.

Sony is currently working on a platform called ‘Project Field’ that will allow you to play card game similarly with Yu-Gi-Oh, sort of.

The pad can identify the placement of the card and will send the data to the smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. Card stats and in-game progress are stored in the game pad.

Project Field will pave the way in bringing PlayStation games to mobile devices and is set to release a few titles in spring 2017.

The idea of the game is similar to card games that you play on the arcade but with portability. Project Field is exclusively for Japan but an international release is still probable.
