
Qualcomm has confirmed that the annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 23 to 25, 2025, in Hawaii.
With that being said, the company is expected to announce its next flagship smartphone chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at the said date.
The chip is set to offer improved performance, with a 4.4GHz base CPU clock speed, up from 4.32GHz.
It will also feature a second-generation custom CPU design and an upgraded GPU cache from 12MB to 16MB.
Manufactured using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could deliver 4% better performance and 9% lower power usage compared to its predecessor.
It may also support the new SME instruction set to boost multimedia and graphics performance.
Also, aside from the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, a new Snapdragon X Elite 2 for laptops is also expected.

As for the smartphones, the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro are expected to be the first phones to launch with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. However, this is still unconfirmed and based on early rumors.
Meanwhile, other brands like OnePlus, realme, vivo, OPPO, iQOO, and Redmi are also rumored to follow with their own devices powered by the same chipset. Again, these details are not officially confirmed yet.
