With Samsung’s Exynos lineup continually getting the attention it surely deserves, Samsung looks to introduce a new chip that will be specifically targeted to wearable devices, such as smartwatches and health wristbands. The chip dubbed, Bio-Processor, is said to improve the overall performance of wearable devices, how about we take closer on this processor, shall we?

The Bio-Processor is capable of monitoring fat and skeletal muscle mass, heart rate, heart rhythm, skin temperature and stress level., However, its main feature is to allow accelerated development of innovative wearable devices who are really into monitoring the condition of their fitness and health on a daily basis.

The Bio-Processor contains certain analog front ends, a microcontroller unit, digital signal processor and eFlash memory. These help in crunching down all the necessary data efficiently, without the use of any external processing unit.
