Samsung Galaxy A36, A56 5G priced in the Philippines

Samsung has added two new mid-range smartphones to its popular A-series lineup—the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A56 5G.

Both the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G and the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G sport sleek design, with the former available in Awesome Lavender, Black, and White colorways; while the latter in Awesome Light Gray, Graphite, and Pink.

The Galaxy A36 5G measures 162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4 mm and weighs 195 grams, while the Galaxy A56 5G is more compact measuring 162.2 x 77.5 x 7.4 mm but is slightly heavier, weighing 198 grams.

Samsung has promised six years of Android OS and security updates. They will run on Android 15 with One UI 7.0 on top. Enhanced security is also available through Samsung’s own Knox Vault.

For specs, both smartphones feature 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,200nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, they are being powered by different chips. The Galaxy A36 5G comes with a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with Adreno GPU, while the Galaxy A56 5G offers 2.9GHz 4nm Samsung Exynos 1580 octa-core SoC with Xclipse 540 GPU based on AMD RDNA 3 architecture.

They are equipped with 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, and 5,000mAh battery capacity with 45W wired fast charging support.

Camera-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G features a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 5MP macro lens. Upfront is a 12MP selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G, on the other hand, features a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 5MP macro lens. Upfront is also a 12MP selfie camera.
