“Safe” Replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 7 caught fire in airplane

It seems the battery fiasco of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is not yet over. A new report from the USA is that the Galaxy Note 7 that’s labeled as a safe replacement still catches fire in an airplane. That’s after a few weeks when Samsung has started replacing exploding affected Galaxy Note 7 units worldwide.

Based on the report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was turned off before the passenger boarded the flight. But while before taking off, the Galaxy Note 7 started heating up in the back pocket of the passenger and eventually emitted green smoke and catches fire when on the floor. The plane was immediately vacated and fortunately, no one was hurt. Samsung is yet to issue a statement regarding on the incident.

If the unit is indeed a replacement of the Galaxy Note 7, then the issue may still persist on other safe units which will become a problem for Samsung. This may cause another global recall for the second time around or worse, a complete end of the manufacturing of the Galaxy Note 7.

On the other hand, let’s wait for the official report of Samsung over this incident.
