Redmi Note 8 2021 From Two Years Ago Is Back But With a MediaTek Chipset

One of the most important phones in the history of Xiaomi is the Redmi Note 8 in 2019. Not only it delivered good performance at that time, but it also came in a glass-on-glass build that was rare on midrange devices. This year, the company appears to be celebrating the success of the phone, as it surpasses 25 million global sales by re-releasing it as the Redmi Note 8 2021. 

If you’re expecting a huge change in design or specs, well, you’re not getting that here. The Redmi Note 8 2021 is still the same phone two years ago, except for the SoC. Instead of using the Snapdragon 665, Xiaomi went with Helio G85 SoC. Additionally, it now runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. 

As for the rest of the device, it’s the same 6.3″ FHD+ IPS LCD with a notch for the 13MP selfie, 48MP quad-cameras, and a 4000mAh battery with up to 18W fast charging support.

Xiaomi remains quiet about the pricing and release date of the Redmi Note 8 2021, but rumors state that it might hit Europe and Russia soon.
