With an overall score of 102 points, Redmi K20 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro ties with Google Pixel 3 on DXOMark. However, it’s a bit complicated than that.
The best flagship-killer phone in 2019 features three main camera sensors — 48MP f1.7 Quad-Bayer, 8MP f2.4 telephoto, and a 13MP f2.4. Garnering 108 points for the photo, the cameras displayed great autofocus, exposure, and color. It also got praised for its well-controlled noise in low light scenarios and night shots. On the flip side, dynamic range is limited, occasionally inconsistent texture on zoomed shots, and different noise levels on subject and background in bokeh mode.
Apparently, the reason why Xiaomi’s phone managed to reach 102 points is the added telephoto and ultrawide sensors. Pixel 3 only has a single sensor on the back, thus lacking any sort of rating from secondary sensors.
Video-wise, there’s good color rendering in bright scenarios with low noise levels in all conditions. However, you still have to deal with existing issues in the photo category but just with added jello effect and lack of detail in all conditions. Versus Pixel 3, Google has higher video quality at 98 points.
