realme has once again expanded their number series with not just one, but two new smartphones. Following their pattern of launching two models together, much like with the realme 12 Series 5G, realme now introduces the realme 13 Pro Series 5G. This time, we’ll take a closer look at the vanilla Pro version, the realme 13 Pro 5G.
You might recall that the realme 12 Series 5G didn’t have a Pro version available in the Philippines. Instead, we saw the realme 12 5G, the realme 12+ 5G, and then the realme 12 Pro+ 5G.
So, what does the vanilla Pro version have to offer? Let’s find out!
Starting with the design, the realme 13 Pro 5G in Monet Purple has a nice appearance. The curved edges and glass back gives a sleek, premium feel. Beneath the glass, a pattern inspired by Claude Monet’s artwork adds a unique element. The design also features a circular camera module with golden rims just like the realme 13 Pro+ 5G.
The frame of the realme 13 Pro 5G houses the volume rockers and power button on the right side, along with a speaker grille and microphone at the top. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM tray, and the USB-C port for charging.
For the display, the realme 13 Pro 5G features a 6.7-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2412 x 1080. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Like the realme 13 Pro+ 5G, this version also includes ArmorShell for added protection.
As mentioned earlier, the realme 13 Pro 5G has curved edges that provide more display area for streaming, gaming, or just scrolling through social media.
In terms of durability, the device has an IP65 rating, meaning it’s resistant to dust and water splashes. It also offers Rainwater Smart Touch, which ensures accurate screen interactions even when the display or your hands are wet, similar to what’s found on the Pro+ version.
When it comes to capturing photos, the realme 13 Pro 5G has a great camera system to offer. It features a 50MP Sony LYT600 OIS camera that captures photos with accurate colors. The shadows are well-defined, and there are no blurry edges.
However, unlike the Pro+ variant, the realme 13 Pro 5G only offers up to 20x zoom.
When capturing images with the camera, colors may appear a bit pale, and grains become visible at the initial zoom level. On the other hand, using the 20x, photos tend to be grainier and blurry, with edges not clearly defined. Small details and objects may appear somewhat box-blurred. However, subjects remain recognizable, and colors and shadows still look pleasant.
The phone also has an 8MP wide-angle camera that provides satisfactory views and pleasant photo results. The colors are accurate, making it a good option for capturing wide shots.
For selfies, the realme 13 Pro 5G comes with a 32MP Sony Selfie camera. Photos taken with the front camera offer true-to-life skin tones with great color accuracy. In good lighting conditions, the results are excellent.
Even in slightly dimmer areas, the photos remain satisfactory, though there might be a slight blur around the edges. Overall, it’s still great for social media posts.
The camera system on the realme 13 Pro 5G is also supported by AI features, similar to those in the realme GT 6 and realme 13 Pro+ 5G. Features like AI Ultra Clarity, AI Smart Removal, AI Group Photo Enhance, and AI Portrait Algorithms help enhance your photos for social media and content creation.
We also tried the AI Ultra Clarity features to help reduce blurs and grains. As you can see below, using it on the selfie camera made the photo smoother. It looks soft, but the edges are still clearly visible.
As for its rear camera, the grainy images when using the maximum zoom were slightly improved by the AI Clarity feature, reducing some of the grains and blurs.
Under the hood, the realme 13 Pro 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It has a 5200mAh battery and supports 45W SUPERVOOC wired charging. You can get the battery to 50% in about 27 minutes, and a full charge takes roughly 1 hour and 5 minutes.
With all the features covered, let’s discuss the price. The realme 13 Pro 5G, equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is priced at PHP24,999.
Overall, the realme 13 Pro 5G’s camera system offers a well-rounded set of features for various photography needs. Its main camera delivers accurate colors, while the selfie camera is a dependable tool for social media posts. Whether capturing landscapes or taking selfies, the camera setup provides reliable performance.
