Qualcomm is preparing to introduce an entry-level Snapdragon X chip to
the Windows laptop market.
With this, the Snapdragon processor is expected to be more accessible to a broader audience.
Qualcomm is aiming for laptops under $700 (around PHP41,299). They recently teased a new entry-level chip that will still include the same powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU) as the expensive versions.
This means users can expect great battery life and AI features, even in these cheaper laptops.
Laptops with this chip will need at least 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 256GB SSD storage to meet Qualcomm’s “Copilot+ PC” branding.
However, to keep the price lower, there may be some compromises, such as fewer CPU cores or slightly reduced graphics performance.
Qualcomm hasn’t shared when this chip will launch, but with CES 2025 coming up in January, we might see it revealed soon.
What do you think of this upcoming Snapdragon X chip?
