OPPO has finally announced the ColorOS 7 (based on Android 10) in China. The new version of OPPO UI features system-wide dark mode, new minimal design scheme, smarter Breeno artificial intelligence, and better portrait mode and night mode for the cameras. The company was also generous enough to share the roadmap of OPPO and Realme phones that will receive the latest major OPPO software update.
The Chinese company has been releasing competitively priced phones under the brand name Realme, however, the company has always been lambasted with its bloatware-packed and messy user interface. Hopefully, that changes with ColorOS 7. The new version centers around minimalism — offering fewer colors and cleaner background. The icons get redesigned, too, supporting custom shape sizes. In addition to that, system-wide dark mode is also available, along with new system sounds and animations.
Under the hood, the performance should be snappier. With enhanced memory optimization, the company claims that visual operation should be smoother. As for the camera, OPPO is introducing improved portrait mode and night mode, and super focus mode with stabilization support through the assistance of the gyroscope sensor. Users are given access to one-touch photo and video editing, thanks to Soloop editor.
ColorOS 7 is lighter and minimal while offering more features to its users. Realme devices will be the first phase to receive the new UI update, starting November 25th. The third and last phase is around Q2 of 2020 for older OPPO phones. China is expected to be the first region to receive the update, followed by the rest of the world.
