OPPO launched today the OPPO A76 4G, an entry-level smartphone that has a balanced specs and comes as the company’s bet to attract consumers looking for a device that meets different usage profiles — at a good cost-benefit.
This version is a direct competitor of realme 9i, a smartphone announced a month ago in India.
Bringing a front design characteristic of devices in this segment, the OPPO A76 displays a 6.56-inch screen with HD+ resolution (1612 x 720 pixels) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, including 20:9 aspect ratio and showing in the upper left corner, a hole that houses the 8MP selfie camera.
Confirming previous leaks, the smartphone comes equipped with Qualcomm’s mid-range platform sporting under the hood the Snapdragon 680 4G processor — up to 2.4 GHz octa-core — which offers improvements in energy consumption. It works together with Adreno 610 GPU, featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The dual set of rear cameras does not have advanced features and only offers the basics: a main sensor with 13 MP resolution and a 2 MP depth lens.
Although the sensors don’t stand out, we can’t say the same about the battery, which has 5,000 mAh capacity and supports 33W fast wired charging.
The OPPO A76 is available to buy on the manufacturer’s official website in Malaysia for RM 899 (~PHP 11,040) in Glowing Black or Glowing Blue colors and a single version with 6GB / 128GB variant.
For now, there is still no release info in other regions, but considering the launch history of the Asian brand, it is expected that the phone will also be made official in European countries.
