
OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus Open Apex Edition foldable smartphone in India. It now boasts a new Crimson Shadow colorway and enhanced security features.
The OnePlus Open Apex Edition foldable smartphone comes in a faux leather back in a crimson red tone and a golden colored Alert Slider at the side which also enables the new VIP Mode when sliding it up.
The new mode, when activated, disables the smartphone’s microphones and cameras and locks the security chip to establish a totally private and secure space.
Moreover, for security, it boasts an independent security chip that enhances privacy and security while bolstering the phone’s fundamental security features. The foldable smartphone safeguards private data from the ground up by providing isolated, independent storage as well as exclusive protection for critical files and personal data. Additionally certified for CC EAL5+ is the independent security chipset, and for CC EAL6+ and EMVCo is the NFC security chipset.
The rest of the specs are similar to the regular OnePlus Open. To recap, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition flaunts a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO main panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 nits of peak brightness, 1440 Hz PWM dimming, and an Ultra-Thin Glass protection.
There’s also a smaller 6.31-inch FHD+ AMOLED LTPO cover display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 nits of peak brightness, 1440 Hz PWM dimming, and Ceramic Guard protection.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor with Adreno 740 GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB of internal storage which is only available to the Apex Edition.
For battery, it packs a 4085mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Camera-wise, it boasts a 48MP Sony LYT-T808 main sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide shooter, a 64MP OmniVision OV32C telephoto lens with 3x optical, 6x in-sensor zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom, and Hasselblad camera features. There are two cameras for each display, a 32MP for the cover display and a 20MP camera for the inner panel.\

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is priced at INR 149,999 (~PHP 102,273) and is now available in India while it will be available in Europe by August 27,2024.
