Microsoft Edge is always getting new features, some of which are very useful and some of which are harder to understand. People say that the company is testing a new feature in its browser that will let you save screenshots of websites you’ve viewed to your browser’s history. This is a little strange, and most people might not understand why Microsoft would want to do it.
This is a new tool that lets you take screenshots of every page you visit. This function is called “Save screenshots of the site for History,”

At first look, this new feature in Microsoft Edge seems very useful. When this is turned on, you can go back to any page you’ve visited in the past, even if you’re not connected to the internet. Neowin said that you can also see the thumbnail of a website by putting your mouse over it in your history. But Microsoft has given this feature a name and an explanation that are not very clear.
Normal users might think that it takes screenshots of every website they visit. Also, Microsoft hasn’t said yet how it will protect users’ privacy and security when it saves pages for later use.
Instead of taking screenshots of every site, Microsoft should at least let users choose which pages to save. We hope that developers will put this feature in the stable channel when it is more improved and finished.
The tool is being tested right now, so by default it is turned off. If you are on the Canary or Dev channel of Edge, go to Settings > Privacy and Services to turn on the option. You can also go to the link edge://settings/privacy to see if the choice is there.
