Liberty To Roll Out New Internet Service In 2016

A new mobile Internet service for the Philippines will be launched by early 2016. This is through the Liberty Telecoms Holdings Inc — a joint venture of San Miguel Corp (SMC) and Qatar Telecom (QTel).

Company president Ramon S. Ang announced on Tuesday the plan to introduce its own mobilearrow Internet service as he cited the potential growth for mobile broadband being one of the fastest-growing segments in the industry. This is a good business as the Philippines have recently been named as the third largest smartphone market in the Southeast Asia.

“We are in the process of introducing a MOBILE broadband service and we hope to provide each and everyone a very good service starting January next year.”

This anticipated service will be competing with the giants in the country namely Smart, Globe and Sun which will be a good thing for consumersarrow.

Liberty Telecom Holdings is a holding company that owns wi-tribe Telecoms, Inc. (WI-TRIBE), a duly licensed public telecommunications company in the Philippines, and of Skyphone Logistics, Inc. (SKYPHONE), a marketing and trading company.
