The mobile camera industry is still being pushed forward by LG Innotek’s innovations. At CES 2023, it will be introducing a brand-new telephoto zoom camera module that is also relatively thin. In this post we dis used about LG New Telephoto Lens.
LG Innotek will show off a new telephoto zoom camera module with actual optical zoom at CES 2023. The company is working with Qualcomm to speed up the use of its innovative technology along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the next top Android phones.
Just like a regular DSLR camera lens, LG’s new design uses moving lenses to extend beyond the natural focal length. Most other long smartphone cameras do this by using digital zoom, which reduces the quality of the image. This camera module also has a folded-optic design, sometimes called a “periscope lens,” to save space. The final product is a lens with an optical zoom range of 4–9x.
Optical stabilization, a must if you want to take pictures at 200mm, is also built into this new LG design. For zooming, the module uses a tiny, very precise actuator that, according to the manufacturer, can move in 1 m steps to move the lens elements. LG also says that phone makers could put fewer lenses on the back of their products if they used its system. This design uses only one of the 4x and 9x lenses instead of both, saving both space and power.
LG Innotek wants its new module to be included in top-of-the-line smartphones this coming 2023.
