Kawasaki Ninja & Z Electric Bikes Approved

Electric bikes are slowly getting better as companies put more money into their research and development projects. Since EICMA 2022, when Kawasaki showed off its Ninja EV and Z EV prototype electric motorcycles, fans and people in the industry have been very interested in the Japanese company’s trip into electric transportation. Even though Kawasaki didn’t start making e-bikes until later than some of its rivals, their plan to use an existing platform for gas-powered bikes has clearly paid off. The company said before that it planned to start selling its first electric bikes by the end of 2023.

Kawasaki Z Series Resemblance

Many fans and possible customers want to know how the Ninja EV and Z EV are doing. Recent government papers on vehicle type approval have shed some light on the situation. The Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, and the Arts has given Kawasaki Heavy Industries Limited the go-ahead.

The approval is good from July 31, 2023, until July 30, 2030, unless it is revoked earlier. It is for the model NX011A, with the NR011A and NX011A variants being named. The papers give interesting information about the e-bikes. Images in the type approval document show that the NR011A version is the Z e-1, which is named after Kawasaki’s classic Z series. The NX011A is the long-awaited Ninja e-1, which is a nod to the Ninja sports bike bloodline.

This is a huge step forward for Kawasaki, which is getting closer and closer to making their first electric bikes. When the bikes go on sale, which seems to be coming up soon, it will be a big step for Kawasaki’s bold plan for electric mobility, and it will show that they are still committed to new ideas and green transportation. With this new information, it may not be long before Kawasaki makes his start.
