According to Limore Noach, executive director of ALS Foundation Netherlands, ALS is a progressive disease that impacts nerve cells, leading to increasing muscle weakness. As the condition advances, patients may only retain control over their eye movements. Noach notes that individuals facing such transformative challenges often seek new purposes and aim to achieve something meaningful.

HONOR is also investing in non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies in its R&D lab. This technology lets individuals communicate with devices through brain signals, opening new possibilities for people with disabilities.

Wei Zhang, a 34-year-old Chinese ALS patient who has lived with the disease for 26 years, recently tried this technology and used brain signals to interact with a computer. HONOR aims to inspire future technology that enhances interactions between smartphones and other devices, benefiting those who need extra assistance.
