Grab announced beta launch of GrabFood delivery app in Singapore

After buying its US rival, Uber in Southeast Asia operations, the ride-hailing firm Grab is replacing UberEATS with their very own delivery app — GrabFood.

Grab announced today the beta launch of GrabFood in Singapore and by the end of this year, the company plans to expand its services in five other countries in Southeast Asia which are Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines.

GrabFood aims to provide people convenience in food delivery when you place an order with their app, they send it off to the restaurant and assign their deliver-partner to pick up the order and bring it to us.

The GrabFood has no minimum order requirements, you can also split bills via GrabPay Credits.

So when you spent your cash on GrabFood app, you will be rewarded with five GrabRewards points which can be used to redeem any discounts available on the catalog and rides on the ride-hailing platform.

Grab providing their Southeast Asian consumers transport, food, delivery, and payments services within a single platform, they are positioning themselves as an “everyday app.”

“As we build out an everyday app that offers transport, food and package delivery and mobile payments. Grab is focused on creating a seamless experience and unlocking value for our customers by offering complementary services on one platform,” says Lim Kell Hay, the head of Grab Singapore in a press conference this morning.

He added, “This is the future we are building towards and we look forward to working with industry players and governments to innovate and realize this vision together.”

According to James Ong, head of GrabFood Singapore, this app is a major milestone for Grab, he sees huge potential in this app that it will be an instrument for the food vendors in reaching a wider consumer base.

The GrabFood is now available on Apple App Store and Google Play and is offering $5 off three orders using the promo code ‘5OFF3’ available until the 3rd of June.
