Google Play Store is getting quite a UI makeover. and by the looks of things, they’ll be following the certain UI updates seen on Youtube and other known app providers, which to us is a good move, since it creates consistency over the Google company enterprise. Lets take a closer look on whats up with this new Google Play Store makeover, shall we?
A glimpse of what Google Play Store upcoming appearance was leaked over by Google’s UI engineer Kirill Grouchnikov on his Google+ account, with hashtags “soon”. The newly decorated Google Play Store shows two main tabs for “Apps & Games and Entertainment”, which feels actually more cleaner and refine than the six separate sections in the current UI for Games, Movies & TV, Music, Books and Newsstand.
The main tabs will feature a few new interesting subcategories, such as in Apps & Games for example, which has Top charts, Games, Categories and Family. While the Entertainment tab features sub categories for Movies & TV, Music, Books and Newsstand. Which is pretty much a more simplified version of the current UI structure.
The header, however features a more strong role, since it highlights the specific app that has current action or activity in it. No specific date were mentioned by Grouchnikov in his post, so for now, we have to wait for the makeover to occur.
