Samsung Galaxy J5 to recieve an Android 8.0 Oreo update

Earlier last year, Samsung released a couple of budget smartphone in the Galaxy J series. One of them is the Galaxy J5. And now, Samsung is reported to roll out an Android 8.0 Oreo update to Galaxy J5.

It was confirmed when it was spotted that WiFi Alliance certified 13 Galaxy J5 variants. However, not all variants will be receiving this update. These include 2015, and 2016 edition of Galaxy J5. Aside from that, it is also expected to upgrade into Samsung’s Experience UI 9.0.

  • SM-J530GM/DS
  • SM-J530F/DS, SM-J530Y/DS, SM-J530G
  • SM-J530S
  • SM-J530L
  • SM-J530F
  • SM-J530FM/DS
  • SM-J530K
  • SM-J530YM/DS
  • SM-J530Y

It’s important to remember that this update is still on the process as WiFi Alliance certification is just a part of it.
