Foldable display for smartphones, coming soon?

Foldable display to be produced in 2018

The concept of a flexible or bendable display is not really new but companies do think that it is the next ‘big thing’ for smartphones.

According to a report, LG wants to go head-to-head with Samsung in mass-producing foldable displays. LG and Samsung are not the only players included here but the former teamed-up with Apple, Google, and Microsoft to make things tough in the market.

Samsung wants to lead the next race in the market by supplying foldable display to different manufacturers, believing that it’s the right thing to do, leading them to the top of innovative smartphones.

While LG might not be as strong as Samsung in the market, it will start making a name for itself by providing Apple flexible display for its next iteration of iPhone in 2017.

Xiaomi introduced the Mi Note 2 with ‘flexible’ display when in reality, it’s only a curved display. When are we going to see ‘real’ foldable or bendable display in our smartphones? 2019? 2020?
