China Will Limit Children’s Cell Phone Use to Two Hours

According to one proposal in China, all mobile devices, apps, and app stores would be required to have a “minor mode” that would limit the amount of time spent in front of a screen to a maximum of two hours per day, however this number would vary based on the age group.

Consequently, young people aged eight to 16 would be allowed one hour of screen time per day or basically a total of forty minutes, and adolescents aged 16 to 18 would have their online games shut off when they had achieved their daily screen time limit of two hours.

Between the hours of 10pm and 6am, anyone under the age of 18 would be unable to access a screen as well.
