Say goodbye to Bluetooth 4.0 as Bluetooth Special Interest Group(SIG) has just revealed the specification of the next iteration of Bluetooth.
Compared to Bluetooth 4, the Bluetooth 5 will have 4x range, 2x speed, and 8x broadcasting message capacity.
Bluetooth 5 will cover industrial tech, home appliances and smartphone, including wearable tech for better wireless connection as the global wireless standard for simple and secure connectivity.
As of 2016, 10 billion devices already support Bluetooth and this is projected to grow in 2020 by 13.9 billion. Moreover, 2 of 3 consumers prefer Bluetooth technology in their products and 1 in 3 wireless products shipped by the year 2020 will include Bluetooth technology.
