ASUS has once again changed portable gaming with the new ROG Ally X at Computex 2024. It’s packed with lots of improvements that make gaming on the go better than ever before.
The ROG Ally X has a 7-inch 1080p display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for an immersive gaming experience. Its design remains sleek with some small changes to the controls. The D-pad is more precise, the joysticks are tougher lasting five million cycles, and the macro button on the back is smaller.
Inside, it’s powered by a strong Z1 Extreme processor and a new motherboard that supports full 2280 SSDs, giving faster load times. Storage has been increased to 1TB, and RAM is now 24GB DDR5-7500, with 8GB dedicated to the integrated GPU.
To keep things cool during long gaming sessions, ASUS added larger heat pipes and quieter fans. Performance modes have been improved too, with higher power levels for better performance.
One noticeable change is the replacement of the XGM port with a second USB Type-C port, one of which supports Thunderbolt. This means users can connect an external GPU for more demanding games.
The eagerly anticipated ROG Ally X is now open for pre-orders, with prices starting at $799 (PHP 46,799). Gaming enthusiasts can secure their units ahead of the official release date of July 22nd. Stay tuned for further updates on availability in the Philippines.
