Apple may drop iPhone with Touch ID under the screen

Apple is enigmatic about the future of its smartphones, after all, it maintains a strict policy against leaks, which leaves information about its next releases almost unpredictable. A new rumor claims that the manufacturer will not launch new phones with Touch ID – fingerprint sensor – under the screen.

Although big tech has registered a new patent for this technology, Ming-Chi Kuo announced on his Twitter that Apple should not launch a device with a fingerprint reader under the display. Previously, the analyst predicted that the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 would utilize this technology in the coming years.

To replace the biometric access solution to the system — currently used in the 3rd generation iPhone SE — the company developed Face ID, which uses the unique features of the user’s face as credentials for unlocking the device. According to Kuo, “Face ID is already a great biometrics solution” and dispenses with the use of Touch ID.

Mark Gurman, an analyst at Bloomberg, says Apple has even tested Touch ID under the screen for use on the iPhone 13, which clearly hasn’t happened. In September of this year, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max should be released without a notch and, to house the Face ID sensors, the display cutout will have a hole and pill format.

You can consider Streamtech fiber internet since it is fast, reliable, and has an unlimited internet connection. So every smartphone model would experience a smooth sensation in every way.
