Vivo is one of the most sought brands out there when it comes to camera-centric phones for a budget price, hence, the Vivo Y93. But with the likes of Realme U1 entering the game and branding itself as the “Entry-level King“, do we finally have a new budget winner?
Advantages of Vivo Y93
Advantages of Realme U1
Starting with the design, both entry-level phones are sporting a polycarbonate build but mimicking a glass finish on the back along with the small notch up front. Where it differs is the quality of the image wherein the Realme U1 shows a crisper 1080p+ display.
Performance-wise, we’re seeing a slight edge with the Realme U1 again thanks to its Mediatek Helio P70 which is clocked higher than the Snapdragon 439 of the Vivo Y93.
As for the camera, it’s a toss-up for the two as both sports a 13MP+2MP(depth sensor) main camera setup. But in terms of selfie camera, the Realme contender destroys the game with its 25MP shooter.
As 2019 phones, it’s nice to see them both using a headphone jack. What’s not enticing to see is the use of a micro USB port.
The only advantage of Vivo Y93 is the large 4030mAh battery.
Vivo Y93 has an expected price of Php11,990 while Realme U1 is expected to start at Php9,990(3GB/32GB) and also Php11,990 for the top model (4GB/64GB).
Even with the lower Realme U1 model, it’s still an overall better device for 2019 thus leaving the Vivo Y93 feeling like a year-old phone (in terms of specs) despite being released just a month ago.
