1 billion yahoo accounts breached, AGAIN

Notice of Data Breach

If you happen to be using a Yahoo account, you probably received a Notice of Data Breach recently. Nope, this is not September, it’s December already and another breached occurred before 2016 ends.

According to the notice, ‘An unauthorized third party, in August 2013, stole data associated with a broader set of user accounts.

The information involved may have included your names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, hashed passwords(using MD5), and, in some cases, encrypted or unencrypted security questions and answers.

However, the investigation indicated that the stolen information did not include passwords in clear text, payment card data, or bank account information.’

Yahoo is urging you to change your passwords and security questions and answers(AGAIN), review all account activities, avoid clicking on links and downloading attachments from suspicious emails and be cautious of any unsolicited communications that ask for your personal information.
