Filter By Price & Features
In today’s market, most consumers seek a device that seamlessly balances aesthetic appeal with versatile functionality that can handle daily activities such as movie streaming, casual gaming, and occasional photography. However, such all-encompassing versatility often comes with a premium price point, which is a common obstacle for many prospective buyers.
But, with the realme 12 5G, you can get this combo of power and beauty at an affordable price of Php 14,999.
Chic Design
The realme 12 5G is surely an eye candy, capturing attention with its design reminiscent of trendy luxury watches. Its aesthetic charm is evident in the camera module that resembles a Sunburst Dial; while the zipper-like pattern mimics the sophistication of a 3D Jubilee Bracelet, accentuated by polished edges for a fined finish.
Its design may be similar to its bigger siblings, realme 12+ and realme 12 Pro+, however, this device distinguishes itself with a glossy back panel compared to the vegan leather backs found in its siblings.
Aside from that, this device is pretty sleek too having a 7.69mm Ultra Slim form factor and weighs 188 grams which is a tad lighter and slicker than its siblings. This device also comes in 2 colorways such as Twilight Purple and Woodland Green which I think are pretty chic.
Beauty Inside
Its outside appearance is not just beaut but so is its performance, matching its exterior aesthetics this device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chip with ARM Mali-G57 GPU which is responsible for delivering captivating graphics on your phone’s display, as well as elevating your gaming experience with its responsiveness and smooth navigation.
Apart from that, this device also boasts a 6.72” display size with an FHD+ Resolution of 2400×1080. Meaning, the details on the screen look sharp and vibrant. Since this device has a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio, expect minimal bezels and maximized visual space as the display extends nearly edge to edge.
Furthermore, the realme 12 5G is equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate. This feature enhances the fluidity and responsiveness of on-screen animations and transitions, resulting in a smoother and seamless user experience. May it be scrolling your social media feeds, web browsing, or even playing games.
Now, for individuals like myself who spend a considerable amount of time outdoors and rely on their phones for various tasks, the realme 12 5G ensures seamless functionality even under direct sunlight. This device has a brightness capability of up to 950 nits that guarantees clear and legible screen visibility.
Capturing Moments
Apart from a phone’s aesthetics and processing power, we have to admit that most of the time, a phone’s cameras significantly influence our decision-making process when selecting a new smartphone.
A good example is the realme 12 5G. Its rear camera is equipped with 108MP 3x Zoom Portrait (which is similar to the realme 12 Pro+) and a 2MP black and white sensor. So, taking stunning and clear photographs without breaking the bank won’t be a problem at all.
This device empowers you to unleash your creativity and become a “Portrait Master,” as their slogan suggests. Whether you’re capturing candid moments with friends, picturesque landscapes, or artistic portraits, the realme 12 5G ensures that you can achieve professional-quality results without compromising on cost.
When it comes to its front-facing camera, the realme 12 5G boasts an 8MP camera. Details are sharp and crisp, and what I like about most is it gives a true-to-life skin tone. However, I noticed that this device is quite having trouble in terms of subject to background separation.
Power Generator
This device has a 5,000mAh battery, so doing your day-to-day tasks like social media browsing, a little bit of gaming, and watching your favorite movies without the thought of running out of power too quickly is not something you should worry about. As a matter of fact, on our standard video loop test wherein the brightness and volume are at 50%, the device lasted for 1 hour and 45 minutes which is a good number.
The Verdict
So overall, the realme 12 5G is indeed a balance of power of beauty. At a practical price of Php 14,999. This device proves that it’s not just about having a good performance or a chic design individually but about achieving harmony between these elements to provide a satisfying user experience., making it an attractive option for consumers seeking a balanced smartphone.

View Detail >>In this review, we’re taking a closer look at vivo’s latest addition to their popular V series—the vivo V40.
Known for its exceptional portrait photography, the V series has built quite a reputation.
But aside from its cameras, what else does the vivo V40 bring to the table? Is it a worthy upgrade? Let’s find out!
Design and Build
One of the things that makes vivo stand out as a brand is their attention to design, particularly in the V series. Every iteration introduces unique back designs with patterns and textures that make each device stand out.
Unlike the rectangular camera module seen on the V30, the V40 features a sleek oval-shaped module housing its sensors. The back panel is made from glass, finished with a matte-glossy touch that looks premium and feels good to hold.
Its curved edges give the phone a slimmer profile, measuring just 7.6mm in thickness. Despite weighing 190g, which may seem heavy for its slim design, it remains comfortable to use daily without causing strain.
Our review unit came in a striking purple colorway. While I’m personally not a fan of purple, the device’s minimalistic yet elegant aesthetic is hard to ignore. To top it off, the V40 comes with an IP68 rating, providing dust and water resistance, which enhances its durability.
As for the frame, vivo has thoughtfully placed the power button and volume rockers on the right side. A small text that reads “Professional Portrait” can be found on the top alongside a microphone, while the bottom houses a USB-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray.
Display
Moving on to the display, the vivo V40 boasts a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1260 x 2800, delivering a 1.5K experience. It’s equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 4500 nits.
When it comes to display quality, colors are sharp and vibrant, with excellent viewing angles and no noticeable color shifts. Even under bright sunlight, the V40’s high peak brightness ensures the display remains legible.
One thing to note, though, while the curved-edge design provides a more immersive, bezel-less experience, it may not be for everyone. Some users prefer flat panels to avoid accidental touches, which can be a bit annoying with curved screens.
Overall, whether you’re using the V40 for entertainment or productivity, its display doesn’t disappoint.
Camera
Now let’s talk about what vivo’s V series is most known for—the cameras. The vivo V40 5G is equipped with a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50MP OIS main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera is housed within a punch-hole cutout.
The rear camera captures detailed and sharp images with well-balanced colors and a wide dynamic range, avoiding deep blacks or overly dark shadows. In low-light situations, the V40 manages to brighten shots, though it slightly sacrifices detail and sharpness.
vivo has tweaked the aura light this time around. While the V30 featured a larger, squarish light with rounded edges, the V40 opts for a smaller, circular light. Despite the change, the results are still impressive, delivering social-media-worthy photos.
The selfie camera doesn’t disappoint either, producing high-quality shots with accurate colors and realistic skin tones.
As for video, the rear cameras can shoot up to 4K at 30fps with standard stabilization, while the ultra stabilization mode supports 1080p at 30fps. The front camera can also capture 4K at 30fps without Steadiface and 1080p with Steadiface on.
Performance
Under the hood, the vivo V40 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
You can also extend the RAM by another 12GB if needed. Even though it uses the same chipset as its predecessor, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is still a powerful performer, handling both productivity and gaming with ease. During our testing, we didn’t encounter any issues like lag or stutter.
The phone runs on Android 14 with vivo’s FunTouch OS 14. However, the device comes with several pre-installed apps, which I recommend uninstalling after setup to declutter the experience.
Benchmark Results
Battery and Charging
Despite its slim profile, vivo managed to pack a 5500mAh battery into the V40, which is quite impressive. In our video loop test, the device lasted about 21 hours and 51 minutes. For casual users, the V40 can easily last up to a day and a half without needing a charge.
When it’s time to recharge, the vivo V40 supports 80W fast charging, bringing the phone from 0% to 100% in around 34 minutes—a fast charge for such a large battery.
Pricing
The vivo V40 5G comes in two variants. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at PHP26,999, while the 512GB variant retails for PHP29,999.
Overall, the vivo V40 is a solid successor in the V series lineup. It offers a premium design, strong battery life, and an excellent camera system. While the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset remains unchanged from the V30, it still delivers more than enough performance for most users.
So, would I recommend the vivo V40? That depends. While there are more affordable options with similar specs, if you’re a fan of the Aura Light Portrait system and prioritize camera quality, the vivo V40 is definitely worth considering.

View Detail >>vivo is back with a new smartphone for its Filipino consumers and fans! In this article, we will explore the latest addition to vivo’s V series, the vivo V40.
If you recall, we reviewed the vivo V30 back in May 2024, having had the chance to check it out personally. So, what’s new with the V40? We’re sure there are some notable changes, so let’s find out!
Design and Build
Starting off with its design, we know this is an important aspect that many people consider. Taking a quick look at the smartphone, it features a slim design with a glass back cover, measuring only 7.58 mm thick. It is comfortable to hold and weighs just 190g, making it far from bulky.
Personally, what I really like about this phone design-wise are the colors. The colorways are very aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. The vivo V40 offers three color variants, Nebula Purple, Sunglow Peach, and Stellar Silver.
What we have here is Nebula Purple.
The design of this smartphone has a unique feature called the Gemini Ring Design, inspired by the symmetry of the Gemini stars in the sky.
It also has a slightly curved shape that gives the camera module a refined line and curvature, enhancing its style and aesthetics.
Around its frame, the vivo V40 places its volume rockers and power button on the right side, while the left side remains clean. The SIM card tray, and charging port is located at the bottom, along with the speaker grille, where it is typically positioned. At the top, a text that says ‘Professional Portrait”.
We’ll soon find out what “Professional Portrait” means for this new smartphone from vivo.
Display
The vivo V40 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2800 × 1260 FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
We tested the device outdoors, and with the intense sunlight, its 4500 nits of brightness provided just the right level of visibility, allowing smooth navigation even under direct sunlight.
Battery
Now onto the battery, no one wants a smartphone that’s aesthetically pleasing but drains quickly, right? Despite being just 7.58 mm thick, this is vivo’s slimmest phone yet with a 5500 mAh BlueVolt battery. The 5500 mAh BlueVolt Battery supports 80W Flash Charge.
In our charging test, the device took only 34 minutes to go from 0% to 100%, which is impressive given its battery size.
To push the device further, we conducted a video loop test at 50% volume and 50% brightness, achieving a total of 21 hours and 51 minutes of continuous playback.
For casual users like me, the device can last up to one and a half days without needing to be plugged in. If you want to learn more about the battery performance, check out our review of the vivo V40!
ZEISS All Main Camera with AI Aura Light
Now let’s go to the “Professional Portrait”! The newest vivo V40 comes equipped with a ZEISS All Main Camera, as well as AI Aura light portrait and AI 3D studio lighting, which has 33% increase in brightness compared to its predecessor the vivo V30 series.
Let’s see how the cameras perform in different shooting conditions, shall we?
For the rear cameras, the vivo V40 features a 50 MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera. In well-lit environments, the camera performs excellently, producing clear and true-to-life colors. I also tested its zoom capabilities and was not disappointed.
I noticed that it delivers excellent results even in dimly lit areas. The photos are surprisingly satisfying and accurate, providing pleasant results.
vivo’s ZEISS All Main Camera offers more advanced features beyond the basics. One key highlight is the 50 MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera, which has 6.5 times more pixels compared to standard 8 MP wide-angle cameras.
This allows users to capture significantly more detail in their photos, resulting in sharper and clearer images, ideal for wide landscapes or group photos.
On the front, the vivo V40 includes a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera. In testing, I found that it slightly lightens my skin while maintaining a natural look. The effects are not excessive, which I really like.
What I can say is that this smartphone is ideal for content creation and social media posting.
Speaking of content creation and social media posting, this smartphone has even more to offer.
The vivo V40 brings three ZEISS features into play, and one that stands out to me is the ZEISS Style Portrait.
This feature includes Biotar, Planar, Distagon, Sonnar, Cinematic, and Cine-flare Portrait options, each offering its own distinct bokeh effect. Using these effects gave our photos a unique touch, with carefully tuned color grading that enhances portrait shots without looking overly filtered.
When using the Portrait Mode, you get 1x (24 mm), 1.5x (35 mm), and 2.2x (50 mm) options. From my experience, the focus is sharp and accurate. We tested it in a good lighting condition, and the color accuracy was quite impressive. There’s even a subtle soft effect that adds a touch of aesthetic appeal to the photos.
For video, the ZEISS Cinematic Portrait Video feature also shines, delivering smooth focus along with a pleasing shallow depth of field. It really adds a cinematic vibe to your shots, making the subjects stand out naturally.
Price
The vivo V40 offers two storage configurations, giving users options to choose based on their performance and storage requirements. For those seeking a balance between affordability and ample space, the 12GB RAM with 256GB variant is priced at PHP26,999.
Meanwhile, the 12GB RAM with 512GB option, ideal for those who need more storage for apps, photos, and videos, is available for PHP29,999.
If you’re into sleek design and impressive cameras, the vivo V40 could be your next smartphone upgrade. It’s slim and features a distinctive rear camera module that stands out.
